Lisa teaches social studies for all Arete students and her diverse past experiences have had a positive impact on our students' perspectives.
Past Work
Teaching was not Lisa's first career: She spent 12 years working in electronic discovery, litigation support, and as a drug and device paralegal. After making the jump to education, she taught online high school for two years and one year at Benilde-St. Margaret's.
A Favorite Teaching Experience
Lisa enjoyed analyzing political cartoons from the 1890s-1920s with students. There are so many little details and interesting pieces of subtext to unpack.
Personal Life
Lisa enjoys embroidering for fun and growing plants- indoor and outdoor. This may be shocking to learn about a social studies teacher, but it's the truth... she enjoys a good map!
