Emily holds several roles at Arete, including providing students in the 6/7 group a welcoming homeroom, teaching them Social Studies, and also teaching Language Arts to all of our lower school. In addition, she helps out with administrative work and also teaches Mindfulness to students.

With a variety of classroom experiences, including two years in Thailand with the United States Peace Corps, Emily is passionate about helping all students feel valued, empowered and successful in their own way. She strives to build positive relationships with each of her students and to provide a calming environment where students feel safe and comfortable.

Emily graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in Elementary Education. She is also a certified yoga teacher and Yoga Calm instructor. She lives in South Minneapolis with husband Nolan, toddler Arianna, and newborn Cora. Outside of school, she enjoys running, yoga, being outdoors, cooking good food, the Packers and spending time with family.
