When John first visited Arete in the spring of 2019, he felt right at home. John believes students learn best when they can construct a mental model of phenomena rooted in a paradigm lab that subsequently allows them to represent their findings with words, numbers, graphs, and pictures.
John has taught students all over Minnesota and has had the exciting opportunity to teach at Phillips Academy’s Summer Program Andover, MA. In addition to teaching at Arete, John teaches SAT and ACT prep courses with the Princeton Review. John earned his BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Minnesota and 5-8 science and 9-12 physics teaching licenses from Hamline University and is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts in Teaching.
John is involved in a kickball league and enjoys participating and training for running events like half marathons and 10-mile races.
