After School
At Arete, we try to offer a variety of activities based on our students’ interests. We understand that after a full day of school some students are tired, physically and emotionally. We try to balance activities that are structured but not too demanding and are offered in a way that is enjoyable to our students.
Clubs
Our club offerings vary each year, reflecting the diverse interests of our students. We encourage all students to participate at their own comfort level, providing opportunities for everyone to explore new activities, develop skills, and build friendships. No matter your interests, there's a place for you to get involved and enjoy a supportive and engaging environment. During the 2024/2025 school year, the following clubs are offered.
Video Game Club
In this club, students collaborate to solve game puzzles, engage in healthy competition with games like Mario Kart and Super Mario Party, and do what they love most—play video games! Our club provides a fun and inclusive environment where students can develop teamwork, strategic thinking, and social skills while enjoying their favorite games.
Dungeons & Dragons Club
In this immersive club, students embark on thrilling campaigns, work on character building, and design and 3D print their own mini characters. Together, they navigate intricate storylines and solve challenging puzzles, fostering teamwork, creativity, and strategic thinking.
Minecraft Club
In the Minecraft Club, students can unleash their creativity by building and exploring virtual worlds. Whether constructing intricate structures, designing landscapes, or solving challenges, students collaborate with peers in a fun and imaginative environment. Our club fosters teamwork, problem-solving, and digital design skills, allowing students to express themselves while sharing their passion for Minecraft with others.
Tinker Room Exploration
In the Tinker Room Exploration Club, students dive into hands-on projects with computers, technology parts, and electronics. Whether building computers from scratch, experimenting with 3D printing, or exploring the inner workings of various devices, students have the freedom to tinker and learn at their own pace. This club encourages creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity in a collaborative space where students can explore the world of technology.
Movie and Games Club
In the Movie and Games Club, students come together to enjoy their favorite films while bonding over card games like Uno and Exploding Kittens. The club offers a relaxed and social environment where students can share their love for movies, engage in friendly competition, and make lasting connections with their peers.
Tutoring
Arete tutors welcome clients beyond our typical enrollment range. While we regularly offer tutoring in math, reading, and writing, we are also available to support students in other subjects such as science, social studies, and various electives. Students do not need to be enrolled at Arete Academy or identified as twice-exceptional to receive tutoring from us.
