Admissions: Section Title

01

Schedule a meeting and a tour with our Leadership Team

The 2e world includes a number of different learning profiles, academic strengths, talents, and differences in social/emotional development. Frankly, there isn't a single form detailed enough for us to really get to know a student.

An initial meeting and a tour of the school building often takes 30-45 minutes.

02

Submit Relevant

Paperwork

We ask families to submit any evaluation reports, IEP/504 documentation, or other documents that will help us understand your child better. This may include report cards and standardized test results.

If you are unsure of what types of documents might be helpful, don't worry- that's a part of the meeting and tour with the Leadership Team.

03

References and Release of Information

Families should identfiy three or four professionals and/or educators who you feel have a good understanding of who your child is and their learning needs.

Commonly listed professionals:

  • Therapist/counselor

  • Evaluating professional

  • Past teachers

  • Past school counselors

04

Two

Shadow Days

Spending time at Arete allows students to interact with current students, experience school expectations and the community as a whole. Students can also provide feedback to their families about their comfort and readiness to try a new school environment.

School visits provide an opportunity for teachers to get to know each prospective student on a more personal level and best determine if Arete can meet their social/emotional and academic needs.
